The Second Prize in the Young Scientists Contest at the International Radar Symposium for Apostolos Pappas (MS3)

PhD candidate Apostolos Pappas won Second Prize in the Young Scientists Contest at the IRS (International Radar Symposium) conference in Krakow last week for his paper, “Adaptive Multi-Modal Doppler Spectrum Estimation.”
The research project explores how radar networks can be used to improve weather monitoring. It is part of an NWO Open Technology Programme project in collaboration with the faculty TU Delft | Civil Engineering and Geosciences (CEG), Department of Geoscience and Remote Sensing (GRS).

Best student paper award for Mareike Wendelmuth (MS3)
Mareike Wendelmuth (MS3 group) won the First Prize in the Best Student Paper Awards at the IEEE IMBIOC 2026 conference for her paper entitled “Breathing rate estimation from data fusion of multiple elevated and tilted FMCW radars”.
