National Scalable Atomic Processing Line (SAP-NL)
Material innovation is essential for solving the societal challenges such as the energy transition and further digitalization of the society. Today, we arrived at a point where we can assemble materials on the atomic scale layer-by-layer. This results in designer materials with properties tailored for the specific application or with properties that do not exist in nature. However, this must be done under a protected environment as contamination of the surface affects the material properties. The goal of this project is to realize a national infrastructure for atomic fabrication that enables this in an industrially scalable way.
