Signal Processing Systems (SPS), Department of Microelectronics
Expertise: graph signal processing in dynamic networks
Themes: Autonomous sensor systemsBiography
Starting June 2026, Tianyi Liu is a postdoctoral researcher at SPS, working with Geert Leus. Prior to this, he as with the Communication Systems Group, Technical University of Darmstadt (TUD), Germany. Before that, he received the double M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from TUD and the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2018. He received the best Master student award from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at TUD. He obtained his Dr.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering, with distinction, from TUD in 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marius Pesavento. His research lies at the intersection of computational optimization, signal processing, and machine learning, with a particular focus on developing parallel algorithms for nonconvex and nonsmooth optimization problems that arise in learning tasks in large-scale sensing and communication systems.
